Turns EU bioeconomy sustainability principles into practical governance tools, indicators and policy roadmaps.

Context

The EU has broad principles for a sustainable bioeconomy, like using biomass in a cascading, efficient way, but turning these principles into everyday rules is hard. CASI-BIO tests them in real ‘living labs’ around the world and builds practical tools, indicators and roadmaps that governments and businesses can actually use.

Main objectives

1) Translate sustainability principles into operational rules. 2) Assess biomass availability, demand and ecosystem impacts. 3) Test solutions in 13 Living Labs across diverse countries. 4) Deliver a digital toolbox and policy roadmaps for sustainable bioeconomy governance.
