Identifies and promotes farming practices that restore biodiversity while keeping farms economically viable.

Context

BALANCE looks for farming methods that are good for nature and still make financial sense for farmers. It studies six regions across Europe to understand the trade-offs between restoring biodiversity and running a profitable farm, then shares practical tools and training with farmers and policymakers.

Main objectives

1) Identify and test nature-positive farming systems in six case-study regions. 2) Map trade-offs and synergies between biodiversity, social and economic outcomes. 3) Develop indicators and tools to monitor restoration. 4) Provide training and policy recommendations to support EU nature restoration goals.
