Not defined

Deploys sensors, genetic sampling and AI at large scale to build a next-generation biodiversity monitoring system.

Context

Tracking biodiversity across Europe currently relies on patchy, inconsistent data. BEAGLE deploys thousands of sensors, collects environmental DNA samples, and uses AI to process huge amounts of species data, aiming to generate up to a billion species records to support nature protection policy.

Main objectives

1) Strengthen the EU’s biodiversity monitoring network. 2) Deploy sensors and eDNA sampling at large scale. 3) Process data into policy-relevant biodiversity indicators. 4) Engage millions of citizens through participatory monitoring platforms.

This project has only just begun. We will update the content as soon as results become available.
