Builds a coordinated system connecting everyday citizens to biodiversity monitoring efforts across Europe.

Context

Many people collect biodiversity data as volunteers, but their efforts are scattered and don’t always feed into real decision-making. THRIVE connects and harmonises these citizen science projects, building trust and shared tools so this volunteer effort becomes a stronger part of how Europe tracks and protects nature.

Main objectives

1) Harmonise citizen-science tools and data flows across Europe. 2) Build capacity and engage diverse communities in monitoring. 3) Embed citizen-science data into policy and governance. 4) Strengthen public connection to nature through shared monitoring efforts.
