New EU rules require products to be designed with sustainability in mind, but there’s a lack of clear, tested criteria for textiles and shoes. STEPH develops and validates specific design parameters and testing methods, then shares training and tools to help manufacturers comply.
1) Develop and validate ecodesign parameters and testing methods. 2) Analyse markets, value chains and consumer preferences. 3) Run life-cycle assessments to measure environmental improvement. 4) Deliver a circular design toolkit and policy recommendations aligned with EU rules.
