Today’s growth-focused economy is a major driver of biodiversity loss and inequality, but alternatives like degrowth or wellbeing economics remain untested and disconnected from mainstream policy. SPARK4B+ makes these alternative approaches concrete and testable, piloting them across six countries and seven sectors, from farming to finance.
1) Assess alternative socio-economic paradigms and governance models. 2) Develop credible visions and narratives through participatory methods. 3) Test pathways in Transformation Labs across six countries. 4) Build coalitions of champions to sustain biodiversity-positive change.
