Food and drink factories can release pollutants such as microplastics and forever chemicals (PFAS) that are hard to detect and manage. EmerGO develops sensors and AI models to spot these pollutants early, and tests treatment methods to remove them, aiming to cut pollution significantly across the sector.
1) Map pollutant emissions in meat, juice and confectionery production. 2) Develop real-time sensors and AI monitoring tools. 3) Demonstrate treatment solutions at three industrial sites. 4) Feed results into updated best-practice guidelines and EU policy.
