Develops economic models to measure the real costs, benefits and social impacts of restoring nature across Europe.

Context

It’s hard to know exactly how much restoring nature really costs and benefits society, including who wins and who loses. ECONATURES builds detailed economic models that capture not just money, but also cultural and wellbeing benefits, to help design fairer, evidence-based restoration policies.

Main objectives

1) Develop integrated ecological-economic models of restoration impacts. 2) Capture cultural, relational and wellbeing values, not just monetary ones. 3) Build AI-enhanced tools for real-time restoration decision-making. 4) Support national restoration plans and private investment mechanisms.
