Not defined

Creates digital replicas of rural areas to help communities and planners design better strategies for agriculture and forestry.

Context

Rural areas face population decline and limited infrastructure, and better planning tools could help. TERRAE builds a ‘Rural Digital Twin’ — a detailed digital model of a rural area’s environment, economy and society — as an interactive tool that helps communities and policymakers plan and test strategies together.

Main objectives

1) Build the Rural Digital Twin, a comprehensive digital replica of rural territories. 2) Involve local communities through Multi-actor Innovation Partnerships. 3) Pilot the approach in five rural communities, with more added later. 4) Provide policy and business recommendations for rural innovation.
