Not defined

Develops a bio- and nature-based platform to clean up sites contaminated with 'forever chemicals' (PFAS).

Context

PFAS chemicals are found at thousands of contaminated sites in Europe and are very hard and expensive to clean up. REMEDYOS combines fungi, bacteria and plants with AI-driven monitoring to build a more affordable, nature-friendly way to remove these pollutants from soil and water.

Main objectives

1) Develop a bio-remediation platform combining fungi, bacteria and plants. 2) Map and characterise PFAS-contaminated sites across Europe. 3) Validate the approach at a real pilot site and replicate it elsewhere. 4) Support faster regulatory uptake and public trust in bio-based remediation.
