Understanding Plural values, intersectionality, Leverage points, Attitudes, Norms, behaviour and social lEarning in Transformation for Biodiversity decision making

Focuses on the understanding of behaviours and motivations around biodiversity prioritisation. The project explores existing multidisciplinary behaviour theories (e.g. framing, nudging, leverage points) that could be applied for biodiversity decision-making, aiming to create a transdisciplinary framework for changing attitudes and behaviour in a generative way and applying methods in place-based and sectoral cases.

"By empowering communities, fostering collaboration, and promoting values-based action, PLANET4B research project aims to demonstrate that real change can begin with individuals and local initiatives."

Main objectives

PLANET4B explores behaviour theories proposed for biodiversity decision-making and reconsider factors such as gender, religion, ethnicity, race, age, culture and disability to understand how they influence biodiversity perception and decision-making. PLANET4B also co-develops a transdisciplinary framework and applies behaviour change methods across 11 cases in eight countries to produce transformative change stories.
