Not defined

Builds flexible ecological models to help EU countries design better national plans for restoring nature.

Context

Every country’s EU-mandated ‘National Restoration Plan’ needs to be based on solid science, but the tools to predict how ecosystems will respond to restoration are limited. NatureRestoreR develops new modelling tools, tested in five countries, to help authorities design and improve their restoration plans with more confidence.

Main objectives

1) Develop flexible, publicly available ecological modelling tools. 2) Evaluate national restoration plans in five EU countries. 3) Identify restoration synergies, trade-offs and climate-proof opportunities. 4) Integrate tools into existing climate and land-use planning frameworks.
