Demonstrates safe, large-scale use of recycled and alternative water sources to make farming more resilient to drought.

Context

As water becomes scarcer, using treated wastewater, rainwater or desalinated water for farming makes sense, but many farmers and regulators remain hesitant. Circular4Farm tests these alternative water sources safely across six countries and develops risk-assessment tools and sensors so farmers can trust and adopt them at scale.

Main objectives

1) Demonstrate circular water management in six real-world pilots. 2) Develop a risk-assessment framework aligned with EU water reuse rules. 3) Deploy low-cost monitoring sensors and decision-support tools. 4) Build farmer trust and support wider adoption via policy channels.
