Tracks complex mixtures of marine pollutants across four ocean regions and studies their impact on health and fisheries.

Context

Pollutants in the ocean rarely occur alone — they mix together, and their combined effects on wildlife, fisheries and human health aren’t well understood. SEATRACE uses sensors, drones and advanced lab methods to identify these pollutant mixtures and their impact, strengthening research cooperation between the EU and India.

Main objectives

1) Characterise mixtures of marine pollutants across four ocean regions. 2) Assess their toxicity and impact on marine organisms and health. 3) Use sensors, drones and advanced analysis methods for monitoring. 4) Strengthen EU-India research cooperation and reduce marine plastic pollution.
