Floods stir up old pollution and spread it through rivers and soils, damaging ecosystems. FLOWSAFE uses plants, microbes and natural materials to soak up and break down these pollutant mixtures, combined with smart sensors and AI to predict where help is needed most.
1) Combine plant- and microbe-based remediation to treat mixed pollutants. 2) Validate the approach at three EU flood-affected sites. 3) Use smart sensors and AI for monitoring and early warning. 4) Feed results into restoration policy and flood-response planning.
