Sets up city-based living labs where citizens co-design healthier, more sustainable local food systems.

Context

Cities are usually seen as places that just consume food, not places that can help produce and manage it sustainably. UrbanFood sets up ‘living labs’ in five cities where residents, local businesses and authorities work together to test small-scale urban farming, digital tools and food education programmes.

Main objectives

1) Establish five Urban Food Living Labs across Europe. 2) Test small-scale, locally-tailored urban food production. 3) Build a digital ecosystem supporting participation and knowledge sharing. 4) Co-develop governance and business models for resilient urban food systems.
