Europe relies heavily on imported soy and other proteins for animal feed and food, which is a supply risk. PROCEED works on developing homegrown plant-protein sources that can improve farm resilience and reduce the need for imports, supporting more sustainable, self-sufficient European agriculture.
1) Develop plant-protein crop pathways suited to European conditions. 2) Improve agricultural resilience and sustainability. 3) Reduce EU dependence on imported protein feed. 4) Strengthen European feed self-sufficiency.
