Máté is an economist pursuing a doctoral degree in ecological economics and degrowth at Corvinus University of Budapest. His dissertation focuses on the possibilities of operationalising the degrowth doughnut sustainability framework to achieve a just and ecologically sustainable transition. His research interests centre on alternative social and economic systems that respect ecological limits.
